Business & Project Management skills for the community and voluntary sector

With 15 years as a charity trustee (at local and national level) and 25 years experience in the international telecommunications industry, Stuart Kelly has a unique combination of industrial and third sector experience.  He is ideally qualified to offer support and training in business, project and IT management to community and voluntary organisations in the UK.

Industrial experience

Stuart has extensive project management experience in industry, covering project teams of all sizes, and project budgets from a few thousand to several million pounds.  His experience covers

  • project and programme management;
  • new product development;
  • developing and delivering training courses;
  • event organisation;
  • team building;
  • staff development;
  • and much more.

His particular specialisation has been the development, installation and support of computer systems and software solutions.  He has a first rate track record of delivering on time, within budget, and to the customer's satisfaction.

Voluntary Sector Experience

Stuart’s involvement with the voluntary sector goes back 15 years, starting when he became chair of a local Mencap society. Under his leadership, the society developed as a professional organisation, and now employs 15 staff, delivering high quality services to the community.

Stuart has experience of

  • developing strategic plans;
  • developing organisations;
  • employing staff;
  • developing and maintaining an organisation’s public image;
  • managing local government contracts;
  • developing and implementing projects;
  • developing quality systems.

Stuart is also a trustee of the national Mencap organisation, and sits on the Northern Ireland Mencap Board. He thus has governance experience of one of Britain’s largest voluntary organisations.
